"Ghostly custody fight"

Films: Mama (2013)

Alias: None

Type: Mystical

Location: Civilized Area/Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: No words can best describe the sorrow a mother feels when her children are ripped from her. Nor can they describe the terror of facing a mad spirit. Put those together, and you actually have one heck of a tragedy.

History: Edith Brennan was an unhinged woman from the 19th century that escaped the asylum just so she could take back her child, whom she loved dearly. Unfortunately, she and the baby perished after a mob chased them off a cliff, and because they died at different times during the fall, Edith was now a lonely spirit. Two centuries later, she kills the murderous father of a pair of twin girls, and decides to raise them in an isolated cabin. Then some foster parents decide to take the girls in due to them being the guy's nieces. Understandably, Edith is NOT too keen on having her kids taken away from her...

Notable Kills: Snapped the killer's neck by twisting his head like a cork.

Final Fate: Eventually, one of the twins offers her life to Edith in exchange for the other getting to live with her new family. Edith accepts, and after the two fall off that same cliff, they disperse into butterflies and head to the Afterlife.

Powers/Abilities: Possession, immortality, slight omnipotence.

Weakness: None, but the presence of her adopted daughters calms her.

Scariness Factor: 3-What keeps this powerful and unsightly spirit from being any scarier is just how sad Edith is. Sure, she had a couple screws loose, but she loved kids more than anything, and the fact that she tried to raise some orphans after death is almost adorable. A shame she wasn't all that good at it. Her inability to let go may turn her into a monstrous destroyer, but just try to see her reaction to her real child's remains and not shed tears for her plight.

Trivia: -This film was based on director Andy Muschietti's short film of the same name.

-Mama's elongated and painful movements...are actually not totally CG. Due to Javier Botet having Marfan Syndrome, which means he's got slightly elongated limbs, a lot of her movements were natural. It's also why Botet keeps getting cast as horrific humanoids in movies.

You call that love, kid?
All because of a complaint about the thread count.

Still better than most Creeper Vans.
You can already tell they don't know the phrase 'Fight-or-Flight'.

Her mood's gonna sour if she sees that's the Twilight CGI baby.
